What Supplements Can Help My Dog With Enlarged Liver
My 13 yr old Weimaraner has an enlarged liver which is pushing her stomach down and causing her to lose weight. The vet stated that she thought it was a tumor. She recommended a biopsy but the last time Velvet had surgery I swore I would never put her through that again. She was miserable. She is eating and playing. I have been feeing her a high protein diet. They vet didn't have any recommendations other than the biopsy. Are there any recommendations someone could give me in regards to supplements? Velvet needs milk thistle which protects the liver and has been shown to repair and rejuvenate the liver. I don't know what you feed her but make sure it's grain, corn, wheat and soy free. It wouldn't hurt and most likely would help to give her ACV too. Aloe juice heals inside as well as outside, make sure you don't give her a very large amount as it can cause diarrhea.
