Zeolite Use Led To Eczema And Hair Loss

Posted by Bjornbjorn (Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada) on 09/03/2012

I will start out by telling you my problems and how they were caused and a little about myself. About 3 years ago I wanted to do a metal cleanse so I tried Zeolite, well that went bad in the worst way. I broke out in full body eczema and I mean everywhere, all over my face, arms, legs, back, chest and groin, at the time my hair started to fall out as well. I have since seen a naturopathic doctor and this has helped quite a bit, I now have a small amount of eczema on the back of my triceps and occasionally on my forearm, but nothing to complain about since the full body eczema. I havent had eczema since I was a little boy so I was surprised to have full body eczema from zeolite which was supposed to cleanse me of my metals. I have since found out that I need my amalgam fillings out before I detox from metals and my body's internal system wasnt in the proper condition to detox. I have cured my leaky gut and have stayed away from my food allergies.

Well over the last 2 1/2 months my scalp has been very itchy, so bad that I sometimes sit on the couch and itch like crazy for long periods, also my scalp is very dry as well as very dry hair. At times it feels so itchy its almost like there is something moving on my scalp but there isnt or at least nothing visible to the human eye (I Have had numerous people check) and my hair is falling out but only on the frontal region and it is falling out FAST. I have never had problems with hair and hair loss until my experiment with Zeolite.

I am a 30 year old male, I exercise 6 days a week (mixture of cardio and weight lifting), I eat all non processed foods, no wheat, I take chlorella powder daily (4-6 tsp), I dont know if this matters but I live in the Vancouver lower mainland of British Columbia Canada (very humid environment), I just started taking b complex (2 days ago) and Magnesium (2 days ago).

Please help me with my hair it is very stressful. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance

Regards, Rob

Bjornbjorn, to aid in detoxification take the most comprehensive multivitamin/mineral/whole foods formula you can find, plus 1grm NAC 2x day. Steam-room and Sauna sweat treatments would also help greatly; and I beg to differ w/ many people who have concerns on using a whirlpool or Jacuzzi w/ the "chlorine" or "bromine" as it can ramp up the elimination process especially if your sweating also. Extra Biotin will help in the hair department.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Hi Bjornbjorn, I'm not any kind of a health professional but let me share with you what helps me. For an itchy scalp I use Dr. Br-----'s Eucalyptus Liquid Soap. I add a big squirt of that to a squirt of my regular shampoo in the palm of my hand. Make sure to do your entire scalp well. Warm (not hot) wash, cool rinse. Always finish with a cool to cold rinse. I get some immediate relief and then full relief after a few days. If you don't have that brand of soap up there (the peppermint kind is the most famous variety) try to find another soap with a lot of eucalyptus. For hair loss I swear by any shampoo with jojoba in it. It slowly clears away the built up sebum and unclogs the hair follicles, stopping hair loss and promoting new hair growth. It will be that fine baby hair, but hey, it's hair. It takes about three or four weeks to see results. Of course it depends on the causes of your itching and hair loss, but these protocols certainly won't cause any harm. And don't use any conditioner until your scalp is back to normal and even then, not every day.

May I ask you what has helped you with the eczema? I am going through a horrible experience with it. I started having a problem with it on my hands a few years ago. Used a steroid cream from a dermatologist that was destroying my skin and not curing me. Out of desperation I went gluten free a year and three months ago and shortly after that started taking a low dose iodine supplement. Not long after that, about ten months ago, I had a full body eczema attack unlike anything I had ever experienced before. Very painful and disgusting. I stopped the iodine supplements right away but this massive detox my body was going through just wouldn't stop. I couldn't find a way to stop the detox. And I was not about to go back on gluten, as being gluten free was curing the arthritis and full body pain I'd been experiencing for years, among other things. I wasn't finding much help on the web. Mostly just that you have to grin and bear it when it comes to trying to rid yourself of eczema and that it can take some indeterminate amount of time. I only found this site about two months ago. I currently have no health coverage or job so finding a naturopathic doctor is out of the question right now.

The things that have been helping me the most are: lots of enzymes, especially between meals with a glass of water; probiotics; 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and 1/2 lemon in a glass of water first thing in the morning 1/2 hour before breakfast; lemon wedges in water throughout the day sometimes; stopped taking MSM which I had been taking for maybe 13 years for joint pain - it works great for joint pain, but I just found out it also promotes detoxing; after my shower I was splashing a mixture of sea salt in water all over my body, now I use a bar of salt shaped like a bar of soap - the stinging used to be so bad that all I could do was hiss, not even say ouch; washing my hands and rash areas with borax and water and leaving it on to dry; and at my worst I used mineral oil to soothe my skin and when it wasn't as bad I'd use coconut oil, but that didn't provide relief for as many hours (I was working at the time). I figure that aside from the eczema, since I have had so many health benefits from going gluten free, over the course of my life the gluten must have caused leaky gut syndrome and liver damage among other things. Of course there have been other toxins over the course of my life, food, drugs (esp. Antibiotics and naproxen), environment, dental fillings, but I have mostly eaten healthy. So I figure I've been detoxing all sorts of things - fungus, bacteria, die-off, assorted heavy metals. And I think the areas it shows up has to do with the body's meridians. I still have some blistering and itching, and sometimes it gets a little worse, but it is slowly getting better and better, and any extra tips and information (from anyone) would be greatly appreciated. I want to be free of it.

You may want to investigate the possibility of a mite infestation. If so, refer to the mite infestation portion of Earth Clinic. That could be the reason why you feel something and not see it as they are too small to see.

If eczema, I had a friend in high school who had eczema and was prescribed ultra violate light treatments. Other people reported that salt water healed their eczema. They swam in the ocean for an hour a day for 2 weeks. Some even bought sea salt and soaked in it in a bath.

Try soaking in a bath of Sea Salt, Epsom salt or Dead Sea Salt. I have read of countless people stating they were cured or nearly so by bathing in salt or swiming in the ocean. There are some theories that eczema in some cases could be the bodies reaction to mites.

I understand this stress. If you're doing minoxidil you very well could be having an eczema type reaction. There are so many different issues and you will get a ton of responses.

Research your family history. For me after learning my mom had antitrypsin deficiency...I learned I got a mutated gene. After researching that I learned what issues I could be having. It helped to dial it in.

Find out the specifics of your autoimmune issues. For me ... I started looking for an autoimmune topical. After putting Manuka honey watered down on my scalp it reversed the autoimmune issue to stop hair fall.

Dmso spraying around the hairline resulted in better results. But I'd never have found that until I realized by the genes I was dealing with what are common places to target my research.
